Once upon a time, a suburban young woman from South Texas traveled west for fame and fortune…actually she became a teacher, but her students thought she was a complete rockstar. She was living the sweet life in a one-bedroom apartment with her patio garden and maltipoo till one day she had the bright idea to buy a house (really it was her awesome dad’s bright idea). So she found the house and moved to the middle of nowhere Arizona.

Life was still beautiful, but she decided it was time after 5 years to throw herself back into the dating game. After a few frogs, she finally found her prince, he was actually a country boy from the midwest. He took her camping, hiking and showed her the beauty that was hidden behind her front door.

Four months in, the most beautiful baby in the whole world took her first breath (my step daughter, Harley, stole my heart from the first moment I held her in my arms). Life had its ups and downs but that Texan gal and Ohioan boy persevered. Finally, after 10 months that boy took the leap and locked down that Texan girl. They planned the outdoor wedding of that young woman’s dreams, and a year later were married at the beautiful Windmill Winery in Arizona.

A couple months later, shortly before this dynamic duo was supposed to embark on their honeymoon cruise, they were blessed with quite the itty bitty surprise, a little bun in the oven. Nine months later, in January of 2020, a handsome baby boy was born. Due to the impending pandemic to come… that crazy couple never went on a honeymoon to the Caribbean.

That country boy from Ohio, decided to follow of his dream of working on large substations, which took him around the United States. That couple and 2 beautiful babies spent the year apart as they both worked on their careers, seeing each other every 4-6 weeks.

After that long and grueling year, they decided to make the bravest leap yet! That Texan woman decided to leave her teaching career to raise two toddlers on the road so that they could see their dad every night. Now as a family of 4, they live in 300 square feet and see the west coast.

Welcome, to our crazy adventure. If you think our life has been interesting up to this point, just you wait! I can tell there is more excitement to come!

My name is Amanda and I am that crazy Texan gal that fell for that southern boy, Jonathan! Our children, Harley and Hendrix are a huge part of why I (Amanda) am even starting this blog. I hope one day they get to see and relive all of our wild adventures. I am also starting this because as a mom of young kids, I know I want to build a strong community, as well as, save people some time by sharing our own trial and error of this life adventure.
